About Us
The trio Willing Heart is based in Wilmington, NC and includes tenor Joey Gore, soprano
Laurie Kelly and alto Catherine Hankins. Joey and Laurie have been singing together for
over 10 years and Catherine joined the group in 2003. While Southern Gospel music is
still a favorite of the group, as the years have gone by, the group's music has transitioned
to a mix of Southern Gospel, praise and worship, traditional hymns and contemporary
Christian. Willing Heart has had many opportunities to minister throughout the United
States both during solo concerts as well as events with the Wilmington Celebration Choir.
God has put us together so that we can combine the gifts and talents that He has given to
each one of us in an effort to glorify Him. We pray that God will use us to reach the lost
and to encourage believers. We hope that our music will put a song in your heart and
uplift your spirit!
Joey is originally from Wilmington, NC and has been in gospel music since he was a
child. He has been a member of the Anchormen and Naomi and the Segos. He currently is
the piano player for Lynda Randle's solo concerts. Joey is the founder and president of
Pillar Music Group, a Christian-based recording company that includes the Wilmington
Celebration Choir as well as numerous solo artists and groups (for more information go
to: www.pillarmusicgroup.com Joey directs the Wilmington Celebration choir and is busy
in the recording studio as a producer. In addition, he is music director and pianist at
Wrightsboro United Methodist Church www.wrightsboroumc.org.
Laurie is originally from Kinston, NC and has been involved in music and theater since
she was a child. In addition to singing with Willing Heart, Laurie sings in the Wrightsboro
UMC choir and chorale, the Wilmington Celebration Choir and with the Voice of Ruth, a
women's ministry www.voiceofruth.com
Catherine is originally from Overland Park, Kansas. She has sung in church and school
choirs since she was a child. In addition to singing with Willing Heart, Catherine sings in
the Wrightsboro UMC choir and chorale and with the Wilmington Celebration Choir. She
is also the kid's choir director at Wrightsboro UMC.
